A Journey Back to Joy
I've been a cyclist since I was young, and now, at 73, it’s one of the few things I’ve managed to stick with over the years. Cycling has been a huge part of my life, something that kept me moving, healthy, and, most importantly, happy. But on June 8th, something terrible happened—someone broke into my garage and stole my bike. I was devastated. Losing that bike felt like losing a dear friend. I filed a police report, but deep down, I knew that bike wasn’t coming back, and that reality left me feeling crushed.
For years, I rode my bike every single day, whether it was at 6:30 in the morning or late at night. It wasn’t just about staying active; it was my source of joy. Riding helped me drop below 300 pounds and kept my depression at bay. For the first time in years, I felt truly alive again. When my 9-year-old grandson heard about the theft, he offered me his savings—$210—to help me get a new bike. As sweet as that was, I just couldn’t accept his generosity. But his kindness did push me to start thinking about buying another bike.
That’s when I started looking around and came across Kingbullbike on Facebook. One model that really caught my eye was the Literider. I had been keeping up with Kingbull for a while and had even entered some of their giveaways. Luck was on my side, and I finally won one of their prizes! I used that prize to get a huge discount on the Literider, which saved me a ton of money.
Now that I’ve got my new bike, life feels good again. The Literider has an adjustable seat, making it easy to find the perfect fit for my 5'5" frame. It supports my 300-pound weight comfortably, and best of all, I can take my wonderful grandson along for rides. He lives with me 90% of the time, and we’ve started going to parks further away for picnics, playing ball, and flying kites together. He absolutely loves that the "big guy" folds up—something my old bike never could do.
Getting back to riding has brought so much joy into my life again. It’s hard to describe how much it means to have that sense of freedom and happiness back. Thanks for taking the time to hear my story.
